Jamaat leader held in Sylhet

Police arrested Jamaat-e-Islami district (South) unit general secretary Maulana Lokman Ahmad on various charges from his house in South Surma upazila early today.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of police conducted a raid at the house of Lokman, also former chairman of the upazila parishad, and arrested him around 3:00am, said Ataur Rahman, officer-in-charge of South Surma Police Station.
