‘Shibir men’ cut Cox’s Bazar BCL leader’s tendons
Islami Chhatra Shibir activists allegedly cut tendons of both ankles of a Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader in Cox’s Bazar Sadar upazila this evening.
In protest, BCL leaders and activists torched the district office of Jamaat-e-Islami, of which Shibir is an associate body, and carried out demonstrations in town.
Victim Razibul Islam Mustak, 23, joint secretary of Cox’s Bazar Government College, was attacked by a gang of masked ‘Shibir men’, reports our Cox’s Bazar correspondent.
Razibul was rushed to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital from where he was later shifted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated, said Md Aslam Hossain, officer-in-charge of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Police Station.
A third-year political science student of the college, Razibul went to a restaurant adjacent to the district Jamaat office for some snacks around 7:30pm, where he came under the attack.
