Police recover body of housewife in Dhaka's Hazaribagh

body recovered

Police recovered body of a housewife from Dhaka's Hazaribagh area last night.

The deceased was identified as Seema Khatun (30), wife of rickshaw-puller Bashiur Rahman, who along with three children went missing after the incident.

Police suspected that the husband choked her to death and fled to avoid arrest.

Hazaribagh Police Station Sub-inspector Saiful Islam said they, on information, recovered the body from the first floor of a building at Boubazar area around 9:30pm and sent the body to Dhaka Medical College Hospital Morgue for autopsy.

A small amount of blood was seen through her nose and there are blood clots on the chest, abdomen and back; dark marks on the fingers and nails of both the hands, he said.

The SI said from the neighbours they came to know that the couple rented the house two weeks ago.

The officer said they primarily suspected that she was suffocated.

However, the cause of death can be confirmed only after the autopsy, he added.
