Police cell to deal with cybercrimes against women gets 691 complaints in 48 hours

The Police Cyber Support for Women, a special wing that was formed to only deal with cybercrimes on women has received around 691 complaints in the last 48-hours.
Of the complaints, 331 were received on November 17 and 360 were received today (November 18).
There have been allegations of cyber bullying, blackmailing, pornography, Facebook ID hacking and threats, according to a statement issued by Police Headquarters.
During this period, the special cell has already managed to settle 170 complaints received by the victims, which is around 25 percent of the total received complaints, the statement that was signed by Sohel Rana, assistant inspector general of PHQ said.
Regarding another 52 complainants, the victims have been contacted for some relevant information to investigate into the allegations and the complaints will be disposed upon receive of further information. The remaining 489 complaints have been registered as complaints for investigation and necessary legal action will be taken after ends of investigation.
The Inspector General of Police Benazir Ahmed officially launched the all-woman special wing called the "Police Cyber Support for Women" on October 16.
