Pro-AL body stages demo near Khaleda’s office

Socheton Torun Projonmo, a pro-Awami League organisation, staged demonstration in front of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's Gulshan office in Dhaka this morning demanding immediate withdrawal of the ongoing nationwide blockade.

Around 100 activists of the organisation gathered in front of the office around 11:30am and staged demonstration there for 15 minutes.

They also hanged banners containing the photographs of the victims of arson attacks from the trees opposite to the office.

On top of the blockade, the alliance has been enforcing series of hartal on week days since February 1.

At least 86 people have been killed, mostly in arson attacks, so far in the political violence that came up from the start of this year, a year after the January 5 national polls.
