54,481 get primary scholarships

A total of 54,481 students got scholarships in the primary terminal examinations 2014.

Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman announced the list of scholarship recipients at a press conference at his ministry's conference room in the secretariat this afternoon.

The scholarships were given in two categories -- talent pool and general -- on the basis of highest marks in the examinations held in November last year.

Of the total scholarships, 21,983 students were selected for talent pool scholarships while 32,498 got in general category.
