Tarique Rahman made BNP chairman

Tarique Rahman has been made the chairman of BNP.
The position of BNP chairperson became vacant following the death of former prime minister and party chief Khaleda Zia.
The decision was made during a Standing Committee meeting at 9:30 pm tonight, said party insiders. 
This information was confirmed on BNP's official verified page. 
During the meeting, it was unanimously decided to make Tarique the chairman of BNP, filling the vacant position.
He has taken over as BNP’s chairman, in line with the party’s constitution.
Tarique was appointed acting chairman of the party in 2018 after Khaleda Zia was jailed.
