Man sued over rape of two schoolgirls in Patuakhali’s Bauphal

A young man has been sued in connection with the alleged rape of two class nine students in Bauphal upazila of Patuakhali.

The victims filed the case last night against Anik, 20, a resident of Madanpura Union, with Bauphal Police Station, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman this morning.

The accused has been absconding since the incident, the OC added.

According to the case statement, Anik called one of the victims -- a friend of his friend -- to his house around 9:00am last Thursday. The girl went there with one of her classmates, where Anik allegedly raped both of them, the statement said.

“The two victims came to the police station and submitted a written complaint. They will be sent to Patuakhali Medical College Hospital today for medical examinations,” OC Siddiqur said.

He added that legal action is being taken after verification of the complaint.
