Kuwait urged to recruit more Bangladeshis
Newly appointed Kuwaiti Ambassador Abdullah Masood Abdullah presented his credentials to President Iajuddin Ahmed at Bangabhaban yesterday.
Welcoming the new ambassador, President Dr Iajuddin mentioned the excellent relations existing between Bangladesh and Kuwait.
President Iajuddin appreciated Kuwait government for the care and attention shown towards the Bangladeshis who work there and hoped that Kuwait will recruit more Bangladeshis in the future.
The president said Bangladesh values its economic relations with Kuwait. He appreciated the economic assistance provided by Kuwait Fund in different development projects like hospitals, roads, bridges and power distributions.
He stressed that both the countries can cooperate each other in the education sector, particularly in IT sector.
The president observed that both the countries hold identical views on most of the international issues and work closely in different forums.
Ambassador Abdullah Masood Abdullah expressed his satisfaction at the existing friendly relations between the two brotherly Muslim countries.
He said that there is further scope for diversifying the relations and hoped that Kuwait-Bangladesh cooperation would be deepened in future.
Earlier, on his arrival at Bangabhaban, the ambassador was given a guard of honour by the President's guard regiment. He took salute and inspected the guard.
Foreign Secretary Shamser Mobin Chowdhury, Secretary to the President Abdul Latif Mondol and Acting Military Secretary to the President Lt Col Lutful Huq were present on the occasion.
