15km tailback on Dhaka-Chittagong highway

Hundreds of passengers have been suffering a lot as a 15-kilometre-long tailback was created on Dhaka-Chittagong highway since this morning due to slow movement of vehicles ahead of Eid-ul-Azha in Daudkandi area.

The tailback was seen stretching from Meghna-Gumti Bridge toll plaza to Iliatganj in Daudkandi upazila following the heavy pressure of vehicles, said Nazrul Islam, superintendent ofCumillapolice.

Earlier on Tuesday, a section of garment workers put up a barricade near Meghna Bridge at Munshiganj point, disrupting traffic movement.
