Despite the forecast of rain, the sudden downpour and accompanying thunder caught many pedestrians off guard today.

Some rushed to find shelter while others carried on with their daily routines.

The pictures were captured from various spots in Dhaka including Metro Rail's Uttara North station, near the under-construction Farmgate metro station and Shyamoli.
