Former state minister for information and broadcasting, Dr Murad Hassan, received head injury when a ceiling fan fell on him at his home in Jamalpur last night (May 12, 2022).

The incident happened at the second floor of his residence at Sarishabari upazila in the district at 8pm last night, reports our Mymensingh correspondent quoting Debashis Rajbangshi, medical officer of Sarishabari Upazila Health Complex.

Debashis said he along with two others rushed to Murad's house last night after being informed that he sustained injury when a ceiling fan fell on him.

"We provided him first aid," said the medical officer.

The injury is not serious, he said, adding Murad is now undergoing treatment at his residence.

Meer Rakibul Haque, officer-in-charge of Sarishabari Police Station said that they are aware of the incident.
