Biman Bangladesh Airlines today announced the temporary suspension of its Dhaka-Sylhet-Manchester flight for around two-and-a-half months, starting from May 1, to facilitate smooth Hajj flight operations.

The suspension will remain in effect until July 10, with regular operations resuming on July 11 with two weekly flights, according to a press release from Biman.

"As in previous years, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has prioritised Hajj flights to ensure a smooth and comfortable journey for pilgrims. To achieve this, the airline has decided to adjust the number of flights on different routes based on passenger demand, as well as make necessary aircraft substitutions and adjustments," the release said.

Exorbitant airfares must be curbed

Passengers can purchase tickets for this route after July 11 through Biman's sales counters, website, mobile app, and all distribution channels.

For those who have already purchased tickets for travel between May 1 and July 10, Biman is offering a full refund at no extra cost or a free date change, subject to seat availability. Passengers can also opt to switch their journey to the Dhaka-Sylhet-London route at no additional cost, including return flights.
