Students of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology have issued an ultimatum to the university administration to reopen all dormitories by 8:00pm today.

Otherwise, the students said they will continue their agitation and announce their next course of action. They are currently staging a sit-in protest in front of Kuet's administrative building.

Earlier in the afternoon, the students submitted a written application to the university administration through Md Rafiqul Islam, Kuet Syndicate member and head of the EEE department, demanding immediate reopening of dormitories.

Rafiqul Islam said he will discuss the matter with the university administration.

Students earlier gathered at Kuet's main gate at around 2:00pm, and entered the campus by showing their ID cards at around 3:15pm.

On February 25, Kuet's Syndicate announced suspension of all academic and administrative activities indefinitely, asked students to vacate the dormitories, and formed a three-member committee to investigate a clash between two groups of students on February 18.

Following the clash, students began boycotting classes and submitted their six-point demand, including resignation of Kuet's vice chancellor, pro-vice chancellor, and director of student welfare, and a complete ban on student politics on campus.
