Kurigram’s fugitive AL leader arrested in Rangpur

Detectives arrested Mostafizur Rahman Sazu, organising secretary of Kurigram district Awami League, from Rangpur city last night.

Sazu is accused in several cases, including the murder of Ashiq, a student who was killed during the anti-discrimination movement in Kurigram, police said.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kurigram's Detective Branch of police, Bazlar Rahman, confirmed that Sazu was arrested from near the Roads and Highways Department (RHD) office in the city.

"He has been kept in Kurigram Sadar Police Station custody," he said.

Sazu was in hiding since the fall of the AL government on August 5.
