Six trainee assistant superintendents of police (ASPs) from the 40th BCS have been dismissed from civil service.

They were receiving training at the Bangladesh Police Academy in Rajshahi's Sardah.

The Public Security Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification today. The notification was signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Tausif Ahmed on behalf of the president.

However, the reason behind it could not be known immediately.

The six dismissed ASPs are -- Ashrafuzzaman, Manas Kirtaniya, Shantu Roy, Sohel Rahman, Kazi Faizul Karim, and Sanjib Deb.

According to the notification, they were removed from civil service under Section 6(2) of the Bangladesh Civil Service Recruitment Rules, 1981.

On October 20 last year, the government suspended the passing-out parade of the trainee officers of the 40th BCS.

On November 19, the graduation ceremonies for trainee ASPs and trainee sub-inspectors (SIs) at the police academy were postponed.
