Two members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab-7) of Feni Camp were critically injured last night (May 25, 2022) after miscreants attacked them on allegations that they were "armed robbers" at Mirsarai upazila of Chattogram.

A team of Rab-7, in plainclothes, went to Barairhat of Mirsarai upazila under Chattogram at around 9:30pm last night to collect information about drugs trade, reports our Chattogram staff correspondent citing a statement issued by Rab-7.

Sensing Rab presence, the miscreants attacked the force members, shouting that they were "robbers", it read.

Two Rab members were injured in the attack, it said, adding they were flown to Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka for treatment.

The incident took place at Bus Stand area of Barairhat municipality area, said police.

The identities of the injured Rab men were not revealed till filing of this report.

Till filing this report, police and Rab men were conducting drives in the area.
