Two killed in road crashes in Bandarban

Two people were killed in two separate road accidents on the Bandarban-Keranihat Road today.
One of the deceased was Shamsul Islam, 45, a truck helper transporting sugar for the district police ration store. The other was Md Hossain, 35, a motorcyclist.
According to the Bandarban Fire Service, a truck carrying sugar from Dhaka to Bandarban Police Lines lost control at a sharp curve in Manurtek, near the district bus station, and crashed into a mountain wall. Shamsul Islam died on the spot.
Inspector Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury, in charge of the Bandarban Police Lines Ration Store, was also injured in the crash.
The truck driver fled the scene, said Mohammad Abdur Rauf, an officer at the district fire service station.
Dr Dilip Chowdhury, a resident doctor at Bandarban Sadar Hospital, confirmed that one injured person and one deceased individual were brought to the hospital following the accident.
In a separate incident near Bandarban University, a cement-laden truck and a motorcycle collided head-on, critically injuring Md Hossain. He succumbed to his injuries while being taken to the hospital, according to Masud Parvez, officer-in-charge of Bandarban Sadar Police Station.
OC Masud Parvez stated, "Two people were killed in separate road crashes. We are investigating both incidents."
