Two killed in Mymensingh road accident

Two passengers of CNG-run auto-rickshaw were killed and several others injured in an accident involving multiple vehicles on the Mymensingh-Haluaghat road in Bagunda area in Tarakanda upazila this morning.
The victims could not be identified immediately.
Quoting locals, Md Tipu Sultan, officer-in-charge of Tarakanda Police Station, said two died on the spot and 10 injured in the accident. Of the injured, seven were sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. The others were treated at local hospitals.
One of the victims was identified as Abdul Halim, 45, a CNG driver.
Police seized the vehicles involved but the driver of a bus which was in the crash fled the scene, said the OC.
Several other vehicles, including another CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a human hauler, were also involved in the collision, said Kazi Akhtar Ul Alam, superintendent of police in Mymensingh.
Police rushed to the spot and conducted the rescue operations, the SP added.
