Two bikers run over by bus in Kushtia

Two motorcyclists were killed after being run over by a bus in the Bottail area of Kushtia Sadar upazila yesterday morning, prompting locals to protest and block the Kushtia-Jhenaidah highway.

As a result, a tailback, stretching over eight kilometres on both sides of the Bottail intersection, was formed.

The deceased -- Nayon Islam, 25, and Rony, 26 -- were workers at Kiam Metal Industries.

They were on their way to work from their home in Durbachara when the accident took place around 7:40am in front of Feroz Hatchery, said Chowrhas Highway Police Sub-Inspector Joydev.
