Three boys killed in road crashes

Three schoolboys were killed in road accidents in Kishoreganj's Katiadi upazila and Bandarban's Ruma upazila yesterday.

In Kishoreganj, two cousins lost their lives in a bus accident at Modhopara on the Kishoreganj-Bhairab highway around 9:45am.

The deceased are Ali Akbar, 13, son of Faruk Mia, and Junayed Ahmed, 12, son of Ferdous Ahmed -- both from Modhopara village and students of Modhopara High School, said Tariqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Katiadi Police Station.

Meanwhile, in Bandarban, nine-year-old Mothi Tripura, son of Rudriya Tripura from Anandapara of Sadar upazila, died when a bus hit him as he was heading home after school.

He died on the spot, said police, adding that the bus driver fled the scene.
