Fire breaks out at towel factory in Chattogram EPZ

A massive fire broke out at a towel manufacturing factory in the Chattogram Export Processing Zone (EPZ) this afternoon.

The blaze started around 2:00pm at Adams Caps & Textiles Ltd, said Fire Service and Civil Defence control room in Agrabad.

As of 3:30pm, 14 units were working to douse the fire at a factory on 5 No. Road of the Chattogram EPZ, it added.

The fire service could not immediately confirm the name of the factory and the cause of the fire.

Md Shahidul Haque, managing director of the factory could not be reached by phone despite several attempts.
