Barishal Plaza fire under control

The fire that broke out at Barishal Plaza near Bangabazar this morning has been brought under control.
Fourteen firefighting units brought the blaze under control at 8:45am, said Rafi Al Faruk, duty officer of the fire service.
The fire was reported on the third floor of the market at 8:05am, he said, adding that the first unit of the fire service reached the spot at 8:06am.
The cause of the fire could not be known immediately, he said, adding that no casualties have been reported so far.
Earlier on April 4, a massive fire broke out at Bangabazar market which also spread to six nearby markets. The fire was doused yesterday at 9:30am -- more than 75 hours after it broke out early Tuesday.
