Aminbazar Power Grid substation fire under control after two hours

A fire that broke out at the Aminbazar 400/230 kV Substation in Savar this morning was brought under control after two hours.
The blaze started at the grid around 7:15am.
Nine firefighting units brought the blaze undert control at 9:15am, said Inspector of Fire Service and Civil Defence media cell, Anwarul Islam.
Md Saleh Uddin, deputy director of Dhaka Division Fire Service, told reporters, "Upon receiving the information, nine firefighting units from five nearby fire stations rushed to the spot and managed to bring the blaze under control by 9:15am after two hours of effort.
"Only one transformer was damaged in the fire, while the other transformers at the station remained unaffected," Saleh Uddin said.
He added that the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and the actual extent of the damage is still being assessed.
Meanwhile, Savar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abubakkar Siddique announced that a five-member probe committee has been formed to investigate the incident. The committee will determine the origin of the fire and assess the full extent of the damage in its report.
