3 killed in Bhola road accidents

Three people were killed in separate road accidents in Borhanuddin and Sadar upazilas of Bhola this morning.

The deceased were identified as Monir Sharif 55, Asgar Ali 35, and Arif Hossain, 25.

Inspector (Investigation) of Borhanuddin Police Station Rezaul Karim Rajib, and Bhola Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shaheen Fakir confirmed the incidents to The Daily Star.

In Borhanuddin upazila, two motorcyclists -- Monir and Asgar -- died on the spot when their bike was hit by a passenger bus in the Buddharpul area around 8:50am, Inspector Rezaul said.

Police seized the bus, said Rezaul, adding that legal action will be taken in this regard.

Meanwhile, in Sadar upazila, Arif -- a battery-run auto-rickshaw driver -- was going to Poranganj's Bazar area in his auto-rickshaw. A truck coming from the opposite direction hit his vehicle at Bhola-Veduria Ferry Ghat road, leaving him dead on the spot, said OC Shaheen.
