2 killed as gas cylinder of bus explodes in Lakshmipur

Two people died and three others were injured as a gas cylinder of a bus exploded while refueling at a station in Lakshmipur municipality today.
The deceased were identified as Abul Kalam, 21, a passenger of the bus, and its staff Md Rubel Hossain, 30.
Lakshmipur Model Police Station OC Abdul Monnaf confirmed the deaths in the blast.
Witnesses said that the gas cylinder of bus was being refilled at the Green Leaf CNG filling station in Islam Market area when the explosion occurred, leaving Kamal dead on the spot and four others injured, they said.
OC Monnaf said that fire service personnel, with the help of the locals, recovered the body and took the injured to the Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital.
However, on the way, injured Rubel succumbed to his injuries, he added.
Sadar Hospital's doctor Joynal Abedin said that Kamal's body is now at the hospital morgue.
The three injured suffered serious injuries, so one of them has been sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and the other two sent to Noakhali Sadar Hospital for advanced treatment.
On October 14, three people were killed and nine others injured in a similar explosion at the the same station.
