2 killed, 1 injured as bus hits three-wheeler in Sirajganj

At least two people were killed and another injured when a speeding bus crashed into a battery-run three-wheeler in Chala of Ullapara sub-district, Sirajganj, last night.

The deceased were identified as Md Faruk Hossain, 32, and Md Rony Hossain, 23, both residents of Maguradanga village in Ullapara upazila, said Md Abdur Rouf, officer-in-charge of Hatikumrul Police Station.

The accident occurred around 8:30pm when a Cox's Bazar-bound bus lost control and hit the three-wheeler, which was carrying passengers along the Bogura-Nagarbari highway, the OC said, quoting eyewitnesses.

Faruk and Rony died on the spot, while another passenger suffered injuries.

Police seized the bus and arrested its driver at the scene, the OC said.

A case has been filed in connection with the incident, he added.
