One man died while five others were injured in a fire at the warehouse of M&U Times, a garment factory located in Bhangnahati Mollapara area of Gazipur's Sreepur, this afternoon.

The deceased, a male, could not be identified immediately, said Mohammad Mamun Mia, deputy director of Gazipur Fire Service

The injured -- Zakir Hossain, Khokon Mia, Rony, Lutfar Rahman Makdul Sheikh and Ariful Islam – were taken to Sreepur Upazila Health Complex, said Dr Roxana of the hospital.

Later, Zakir, Khokon and Rony were shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

RMG factory set on fire, three hurt in Gazipur

According to Faruk Hossain, a firefighter of Sreepur Fire Service, the fire originated at the warehouse of the factory around 1:30pm.

On information, two firefighting units were deployed at the spot who were working to douse the fire till 3:30pm when the report was filed.

The firefighters have not been able to determine where the fire originated from. Details will be disclosed later, the firefighters said.
