The ruling Awami League is maintaining a big lead over its archrival BNP as vote counting continues in the municipality elections marked by gross irregularities and widespread violence.
The ruling party mayor candidates have secured their victory in almost all the municipalities where vote counting has been completed in the maiden partisan local government elections.
