Re-defining maternity clothing in Dhaka: Mere completes 3 years

The brain child of Maisha Samiha and Jarin Tasnim Ona, Mere — a fashion brand that beautifully blends comfort with style for soon to be mothers, has recently turned 3. Started as a photographer, Maisha Samiha has worked with multiple expecting mothers during her photography days. This is when she realised that maternity clothes in our country still means a comfortable cotton piece of fabric. Realising the need, she and Jarin Tasnim Ona decided to make a change and bring a maternity brand to the expecting mothers that will make them feel beautiful as well as comfortable during this beautiful journey called motherhood.

When the partners started this maternity line, they were expecting it to take a little time for the people to get accustomed to the idea of maternity fashion. But to their utter surprise, people embraced their collection with open arms very early into the launch. They were happy to see that people appreciated the collection and realised the need. So right around the corner of the brand celebrating their first anniversary, they were planning to get a physical space. However, the world was hit by the pandemic and their plans were on hold for a while.

Now that things are slowly going back to their own pace, the partners Maisha and Jarin are all set to launch the first ever physical store of Mere inside of SCICCOSO, Banani 11. From their popular maternity denims to their newly launched nursing tops, you will find all that you will need to feel your best self during this beautiful time of your life.

The partners believe that the journey of a mother is never ending. Even after giving birth to their ray of sunshine, mothers often go through a period of time where they are trying to cope with the physical changes that they go through. Mere is a small attempt from the team to make mothers feel better during these times.
