Exosome therapy is emerging as an innovative treatment in aesthetic dermatology, offering promising applications for hair restoration and skin rejuvenation.

Exosomes are microscopic particles released by cells that contain proteins, growth factors and other signalling molecules. In dermatology, exosome-based treatments are being explored for their potential to stimulate tissue repair and regeneration.

For hair loss, exosome therapy may help improve the health of hair follicles and support hair growth. By delivering growth factors to the scalp, it is believed to enhance follicular activity, strengthen hair roots and reduce excessive hair shedding. As a result, some patients may experience improved hair density and quality.

In skin care, exosome therapy is used to promote skin renewal and improve overall skin appearance. It may stimulate collagen production, helping to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. The treatment is also being investigated for its potential role in improving acne scars, sun-damaged skin and uneven skin tone.

Exosome therapy is generally performed using minimally invasive techniques, often in combination with microneedling to enhance absorption. The procedure does not require surgery and usually involves little downtime.

As exosome therapy is still an evolving field, individuals considering the treatment should consult a qualified dermatologist to determine whether it is appropriate for their condition and to ensure safe, evidence-based care.
