Typhoid vaccination campaign begins

A month-long typhoid vaccination campaign will begin in the country today.

The vaccination will take place in every school from 9:00am to 2:00pm, said Professor Dr Md Abu Jafor, director general of the DGHS.

He said the government is providing typhoid vaccines free of cost to around five crore children aged between nine months and 15 years.

The vaccine has no known side effects and is approved by the WHO. Students can safely take this vaccine, he said.
