Dengue claims 5 more lives, 124 admitted to hospitals

Five people died from dengue and 124 others were admitted to hospitals across the country with the mosquito-borne disease in the 24 hours until 8am today, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.

Cases spike outside the capital

According to a DGHS press release, of the five people who died during the reporting period, two were men and three were women.

The death toll from dengue this year has now reached 18.

So far this year, a total of 5,924 people have been infected with dengue.
