Govt to buy 85,000 laptops for 5,000 educational institutions

The government approved a proposal to purchase 85,000 laptops and 5,000 web cameras for five thousand educational institutions across the country.

They will also buy 5,000 routers and 5,000 network switches and other information technology devices.

The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase approved the proposal worth a total of Tk 487.21 crore. Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal chaired the meeting today.

The Ministry of Information Technology and Communication has been asked to submit the list of contractors in the next meeting, said the Finance Minister.
