Examine, repair electrical connections in all mosques: Religious Affairs Ministry

Religious Affairs Ministry today instructed committees of all mosques across the country -- especially those with air-conditioners -- to take necessary measures to examine and repair electrical connections inside the places of worship, in order to avoid accidents from faulty wiring and short circuits.

The ministry has asked the committees of all mosques to carry out the activities under the supervision of divisional or district offices of Islamic Foundation and with the assistance of local administration, including public works and local government engineering departments.

The religious affairs ministry came up with the instructions after a deadly blast took place at a mosque in Narayanganj on Friday -- killing 24 people so far and injuring several others.
