Heavy to very heavy rainfall likely in parts of Bangladesh: Met office

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast moderately heavy to heavy rainfall in Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions in 24 hours beginning 9:00am today.

"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely at many places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions and one or two places over Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions," said a regular Met office bulletin.

Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The axis of monsoon trough runs through Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across the Southern part of Bangladesh.

One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North Bay.keywords:
