Dense fog blankets Dhaka as temperature drops to 12.5°C
Amid shivering cold and dense fog, Dhaka recorded the season's lowest 12.5 Degrees Celsius this morning, according to Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
Dhaka and its surrounding areas may remain covered by moderate to dense fog until noon, it said.
The prevailing cold and foggy conditions have reduced visibility in some areas, affecting early morning movement.
According to a Met Office regular bulletin, "Moderate to thick fog may occur at many places over the country during midnight to morning, and it may continue at places till noon."
Air navigation, inland river transport, and road communication may be disrupted due to thick fog.
A mild cold wave is sweeping Rajshahi, Pabna, Naogaon, Sirajgonj, Nilphamari, Kurigram, Jashore, Chuadanga, and Kushtia districts, and it may continue.
The weather may remain dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country.
Night and day temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The country's minimum temperature was recorded at 9.0 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi, Ishwardi in Pabna, and Badalgacchi of Naogaon district.
