8-ft-long python rescued from Rangamati town, released in Kaptai National Park

An 8-feet-long python was recovered from the Asambasti Coconut Garden area of Rangamati town this morning.
The python was rescued by the Forest Department around 9:00am and later released at the Kaptai National Park in the afternoon.
CHT South Forest Division Sadar Range Officer Md Abdul Hamid said around 7:30am, the Forest Department received information about a python entangled in a net through the members of the "Biodiversity Conservation Society of CHT" in the Asambasti Coconut Garden area of the district.
Later, a special patrol team of the Forest Department's Sadar Range recovered the python. The rescued python weighs about 8 kg.
Kaptai Range Officer Omar Faruq Swadhin said the python has been released in a safe place.
