We have just around 200-350 wild elephants
Elephants were abundant in Bangladesh even a century ago. Its number has dropped down to 200 to 350 presently, according to the forest department. Up to 30% of Bangladesh’s elephant population is transient, migrating over the borders into neighboring India or Myanmar.

Elephants in Bangladesh grow to 10 feet high at the shoulder, have small ears, and domed forehead, and a sloping back. They only have one “finger” at the end of the trunk. African elephants grown to 13 feet high at the shoulder, have large ears, and a sloping forehead. They have two “fingers” at the end of the trunk.
