Zahara Mitu defends 'Joy Bangla' poster after backlash
The Kazi Hayat directorial venture, "Joy Bangla" will hit the theatres on Victory Day (December 16) of this year.
The film, which stars Bappy Chowdhury and Zahara Mitu, recently released its poster—which gives audiences a first glance into the film. However, audiences seemed to be heavily disappointed by the poster.
So disappointed were they, that they took to social media to share their thoughts on the poster. According to audiences, both the poster and trailer of "Joy Bangla" failed to impress them, with many saying that from what they had seen so far, the movie did not offer 'anything new' and seemed to 'lack in substance'.
"Joy Bangla" will also mark the silver screen debut of Zahara Mitu. In response to the criticism from audiences, the actress opened up to several media outlets, saying that judging a film by its trailer is not justified.
Zahara also added that, despite numerous limitations, the project has been handled with care. According to the debutant, the kind of support she received while shooting for the film was commendable, she also assured audiences that the movie would definitely be worth watching.
"Joy Bangla" is based on the Liberation War of Bangladesh, and is based on the novel of the same name, which was written by Professor Muntassir Mamoon. Zahara will be taking on the role of Dola and the actress will be seen without any makeup in this film. The movie has been produced by Mitu Sikder.
Now, it is simply a matter of time before we learn whether the film will receive a good response after its release, or if the audience's concerns regarding the trailer and poster will ring true.
