We risked our own money for ‘Adhunik Bangla Hotel’: Mosharraf Karim

His stellar performance earned him the Best Actor (Male) in the Popular category at the Blender's Choice-The Daily Star OTT & Digital Content Awards 2024.

"We never really thought that this series would ever be showcased," he said. "Kazi Asad, Daniel Dany, and I sat together and realised we loved the story, but we didn't have the money or the means to finance it. At that moment, we decided to work on the first episode with our own money for 'Boal Macher Jhol'. When Chorki saw it, they really liked it and agreed to finance the rest of the series. That's how the dream of 'Adhunik Bangla Hotel' started taking shape."
Karim did not forget to acknowledge the collaborative effort behind the series. "I want to mention the names of Dany and Asad, and Theophilus Scott, who worked as the art director. And of course, all the actors and actresses who gave their best. We had to work extremely hard on this project, and it's incredibly rewarding to see the results. This award belongs to the entire team," he said, his gratitude evident.
He continued, "Heartiest gratitude to Blender's Choice-The Daily Star, to my theater troupe Natyakendra, and to my guru, Tariq Anam Khan. Their guidance and support have been invaluable throughout my career."
