Toffee to bring Bangla dub of ‘Descendants of the Sun’

Popular Korean drama "Descendent of the Sun" Bangla dub will be streaming on Toffee from May 1.
The Korean drama arrives through the efforts of production house Views & Visions, with dubbing director Khalid Hossain Avi at the helm.
Actors Irfan Sajjad, Sharmin Zoha Shoshi, Rafiath Rashid Mithila, ABM Sumon, Shyamal Mawla, and Arik Anam Khan lent their voices to dub the drama in Bangla.
Director Khalid Hossain Avi emphasised that casting was based not only on vocal similarity but on matching personalities to characters for a more authentic emotional experience. "We went beyond literal translation to preserve the spirit of the dialogues," he said
"Descendants of the Sun" follows Captain Yoo Si-jin (played by Song Joong-ki), leader of South Korea's elite Alpha Team, and Dr Kang Mo-yeon (played by Song Hye-kyo), a brilliant and spirited surgeon. Their paths cross in Seoul but diverge due to their contrasting duties—one sworn to protect lives at the risk of his own, the other devoted to saving lives through medicine.
Fate reunites them in the war-torn fictional country of Uruk, where love, sacrifice, and duty intertwine against a backdrop of natural disasters and conflict.
Beyond the romance, "Descendants of the Sun" is a story of patriotism, courage, and friendship. The drama also features another fan-favourite couple: Sergeant Major Seo Dae-young and army doctor Yoon Myeong-ju, whose layered relationship adds depth to the narrative.
