Shooting of two Eid films from Dhaka underway in Sri Lanka
The shooting of two Bangladeshi films, “Prince” and “Rakkhosh”, is currently underway in Sri Lanka. Both films are scheduled to be released during Eid al-Fitr. After completing portions of their shoots in Bangladesh, the teams moved to Sri Lanka for the next phase.
Actor Shakib Khan left for Sri Lanka on January 15 to take part in the shooting of “Prince”. He began filming on January 17. The film is directed by Abu Hayat Mahmud. Alongside Shakib Khan, the cast includes Kolkata actress Jyotirmoyee Kundu, and Bangladeshi actresses Tasnia Farin and Sabila Noor. The shooting of “Prince” will continue in Sri Lanka for the next 10 days.
Meanwhile, actor Siam Ahmed has been in Sri Lanka since January 14. He started shooting for the film “Rakkhosh” on January 15. The film is directed by Mehedi Hasan Hridoy. The female lead is Kolkata actress Sushmita Chatterjee. A 28-member shooting unit is also present in Sri Lanka. The shooting of “Rakkhosh” is expected to continue for the next two weeks.
Sources related to both films said that the shooting is being done with plans to release the films during Eid al-Fitr. Alongside shooting, editing work is also in progress so that the films are ready for Eid release. In recent years, there has been strong competition to release films during Eid, and audiences of Dhallywood now look forward to Eid releases as a major attraction.
