Ranveer Singh speculated to join Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don 3’
Earlier today, Indian actor-director Farhan Akhtar surprised the fans, announcing a new installment for his famed film, "Don: The Chase Begins" (2006), titled "Don 3: The Chase Ends". The project was originally a remake of Chandra Barot's crime-fiction "Don" (1978) featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Zeenat Aman.
Later, Farhan's version, "Don: The Chase Begins" (2006) starring Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra also managed to carry on Chandra Barot's mantle, making its place in the hearts of the audience.
Furthermore, "Don 2: The King is Back" (2011) further affirmed the film's position as a marvelous classic in the minds of the fans.
Taking to his social media accounts, Fathan Akhtar recounts the journey of "Don", declaring the new addition to the franchise. The "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara" actor also shared an announcement teaser for the film which highlighted the number '3' with the caption, 'A new era begins'.
According to media outlets, Ranveer Singh will likely be donning the mantle of Don in Farhan's "Don 3: The Chase Ends". However, the film's authorities have kept the cast for the new film under wrap.
While fans are quite excited about the new installment of "Don", some have also expressed their discontent about replacing Shah Rukh Khan, on social media.
The producer of "Don 3" Ritesh Sidhwani told the media, "Till my partner (Farhan Akhtar) finishes writing it, we won't do anything. Right now, he is in the phase of completing the script… Even all of us are eagerly waiting to see 'Don'."
Farhan Akhtar's "Don 3: The Chase Ends" is expected to hit the theatres in 2025.
