‘Pathaan’ to be the first Bollywood film to earn 500 crores in India
Ever since its release on January 25, the Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham starrer film "Pathaan" has turned the tides of the Indian film industry. Even before its release, the Siddharth Anand directorial was treated with festive excitement from the fans.
The film has already collected Rs 489 crores from India alone from its Hindi, Telegu, and Tamil versions, counting yesterday's collection. According to media outlets, the film is expected to be the first Bollywood film to enter the 500 crore club among films within India.
On the other hand, "Pathaan" has already collected Rs 950 crores worldwide, and is racing towards the Rs 1000 crore club from global box office collections.
So far, is already the 5th of the top Indian-grossing films worldwide, having accounted for films from both Bollywood and Tollywood. Above "Pathaan" in the list are "RRR" (Rs 1194 crores) in 4th place, "KGF Chapter 2" (Rs 1230 crores) in 3rd place, "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Rs 1800 crores)" 2nd place, and "Dangal" (Rs 1970 crores) 1st place.
From the Top 10 highest-grossing Indian Films worldwide list of Bollywood, "Pathaan" has already surpassed Salman Khan's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" and Aamir Khan's "Secret Superstar", securing second place right under "Dangal".
What remains to be seen is if Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer film "Shehzada" and Hollywood film "Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania" which are set to be released on February 17, can hinder the film's prowess.
