Mahiya Mahi recently discussed her decision to step away from the film industry. She is currently vying for a seat in the upcoming national elections, actively engaging with voters on the campaign trail. Following her involvement in the election campaign, Mahi approached the electorate, stating, "As a mother of a child, I have decided not to pursue roles in movies any longer."

Actress Mahiya Mahi has taken a step into politics as an independent candidate for the Rajshahi-1 (Godagari-Tanore) constituency in the National Assembly elections scheduled for January 7. Although she did not seek nomination from the boat (Awami League's emblem), the prominent film actress decided to participate in the elections under the symbol of the truck.

On Tuesday, a female voter in the Gogram Union of the Godagari area in Rajshahi conveyed to Mahi during her visit to cast her vote, "We do not want to witness leaders leaving the country after the election! The way leaders approach the people before the vote should also be reflected after the vote. Mahi, we expect you to work for our improvement. We will vote for you then. Our area is grappling with water-related problems. When funds are allocated, leaders consume them. I want this issue to be addressed."

Embracing the voter, Mahi responded to her inquiry, stating, "My home is Mundumala. I will stay here. I won't pursue any more movie projects. I have a child and a family, and I am committed to being with you all. Many women in the country are earning substantial incomes through the Internet from the comfort of their homes. I've decided that if I win, I will teach the girls of this area how to earn significant incomes while staying home."

Mahiya Mahi asserted, "I am committed to addressing the problem concerning water, and if the allocated funds intended for solving this issue are misappropriated by the leader, then a change in leadership is necessary. Keeping the same leader for 15 years is a mistake, and I trust you are aware of it. If I win, my initial focus will be on improving the availability of water and the condition of roads in this area. If I don't deliver on my promises, feel free to reject me when I come seeking votes next time. I intend to implement initiatives that will eliminate the need for me to seek votes in the future."
