Naseeruddin Shah calls ‘RRR’ and ‘Pushpa’ a sign of increasing ‘insecurity in men’
Renowned actor Naseeruddin Shah has recently shared his views on the popular films produced within the last few years, including "RRR" and "Pushpa: The Rise". The two films are easily counted amongst the best Indian films produced between 2021 and 2022.
Shifting away from the fanfare around "Pushpa" and "RRR", Naseeruddin Shah claimed in his latest interview that films like these are signs of the increasing 'insecurity in men'.
The "Irada" star stated, "The insecurity of men is increasing which is why hyper-masculinity is being stressed. This is what's happening even in America with the Marvel universe. Everyone's a 'superhero' now."
He further added, "I couldn't watch RRR and Pushpa. But, I did watch Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan' because he is an eminent filmmaker with no agenda. I cannot imagine what people get from watching these films. I would never watch them."
Naseeruddin Shah mentioned that has faith in the younger generation, smaller films and social productions. "The likes of "Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi", and "Gulmohar" will surely find their audience amongst this generation," he concluded.
