Mahmud Didar’s ‘Tomake Bhalobashar Por’ to premiere on Channel i
Inspired by Mahmud Didar's short story "Alternative," the screenplay "Tomake Bhalobashar Por," written and directed by Didar himself, is set to premiere on Channel i, with production by Impress Telefilm.
The story follows Sofol, a young man from a middle-class family, who leads a rather unusual life, choosing not to use a phone at all. He observes people around him constantly bowing their heads in submission, as if a single device has rendered everyone subservient, which instills in him a kind of phobia towards phones and social media.
Due to his lack of a phone, he often becomes a target of ragging at the university campus, with many viewing him as inferior.
Rafa, a tomboyish girl, considers Sofol's behaviour entirely bogus and treats him as a public joke in front of the class. She comes from a broken family and is influenced by drugs.
Unexpectedly, Sofol's life becomes intertwined with Rafa's. Rafa's family assumes that the naive Sofol has abducted her, leading the police to start searching for them. Eventually, Rafa, who was once a media enthusiast, becomes phone-free like Sofol.
The cast includes Rosey Siddiqui, Ria, Sofol Khan, Tuhin Rahman, and Khondokar Himel, among others.
