Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan, one of the most iconic pairs of Hindi movies, have given numerous hits in Bollywood starting with "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge", "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham" among many others. While Shah Rukh Khan is breaking the internet with Pathaan's poster look alongside Deepika, the gorgeous Kajol is busy promoting her latest film "Salaam Venky", where she plays the mother of a 24-year-old terminally ill son.

During a promotional event, Kajol reflected on the comparisons of roles essayed by her and her male contemporaries in Bollywood.

When asked what she thought of Shah Rukh Khan romancing young actresses on-screen while she had to play mother roles, the actress responded in a subtly assertive way that male celebrities help the industry thrive.

"I am going to share an interesting point with you which I feel is my opinion on the heroes and it is nothing related to statistics. I think the heroes of our film industry, in fact, feel they are in this nut for a reason. And the reason is that the film industry is a business at the end of the day," said the actress at Agenda AajTak 2022.

"Whatever you do at the end of the day, every hero has to pull in that amount to make that movie a hit," she continued.

"They have a heavy burden on their shoulders. Someone once said to me, "You have developed as an actor, but your contemporaries have not," referring to the range of roles you have played. That actually has to do, in my opinion, with the fact that the number game has also left them trapped further down the line," added the actress.

On the work front, Kajol will be making her web series debut with "The Good Wife," an Indian adaptation of the American courtroom drama of the same name.
