James’ lyricist Bishu Sikdar no more

The famed lyricist Bishu Sikdar, who penned many of the renowned musician James's songs, passed away today (Saturday) at 5 pm. The news was confirmed to The Daily Star by noted musician Bappy Khan.

Bishu Sikdar garnered much praise and appreciation as a lyricist for the Nagar Baul's songs. James's last number "I Love You" was also last song written by the artist. On top of that, the artist has previously written "Jodi Ei Shite Ami More Jai", "Ami Tomaderi Lok", "Didimoni", "Tufan" and "Bijli" amongst many others, for James.
